Jemena's operations comply with both the spirit and intention of occupational health and safety legislation, and the company is implementing and maintaining systems that comply with AS 4801.
Recognising our moral and legal responsibility, we are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our employees, contractors and members of the public.
This obligation and commitment extends to ensuring that our operations do not place the local community at risk of injury, illness or property damage.
Health and Safety Policy
At Jemena we aspire to excellence in Health and Safety performance, and view this as fundamental to our business success.
We are committed to:
- Providing a safe and healthy workplace, free of occupational injuries and illness;
- Creating a culture that puts Health and Safety first through leadership, participation, training and development;
- Conducting our business in a way that protects, or enhances, community, safety and amenity;
- Continuous improvement in our Health and Safety Performance;
- Compliance with all legal and other obligations subscribed to by the business as the minimum requirement for our Health, Safety and Environmental standards;
- Establishing measurable objectives and targets.

We believe we are all responsible for Jemena’s Health and Safety performance. In particular:
- No business objective will take priority over Health and Safety;
- On an individual basis, we are all accountable and empowered to ensure our actions protect ourselves, fellow workers, the public and others;
- Management and supervisors provide visible leadership, adequate resources, and ensure workplace standards are implemented and maintained;
- The Board ensures there is a disciplined approach to the identification and management of risks across the business.
It is a requirement that all employees, contractors and visitors comply with the requirements of this policy and our Health and Safety management standards at all times.
